Medicare Medicare provides a rebate of $124.50 for clinical psychologists and $84.50 for all other psychologists who are referred by their GP, a psychiatrist or a pediatrician for treatment of a mental health disorder. See our services page for information about mental health disorders.
To claim this rebate you will require a referral letter plus a GP Mental Health Care Plan (MBS 2715 or 2712) from your GP or just a referral letter from your psychiatrist or pediatrician.
You are entitled to 10 sessions each calendar year from Medicare. Your referring doctor will review your progress after six sessions.
Medicare Local. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, your GP may choose to refer you to our clinic via Medicare Local. Upon approval of your application to Better Outcomes, there is no fee incurred for your sessions. This program also entitles you to 6 sessions per calendar year.
Private Insurance Rebates are available from your private health fund for psychology or clinical psychology services. Check with your fund to see if you are covered.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) Most organizations provide free services for employees. At this practice we provide free services, on referral, for Police, ADF, Ambulance, Teachers’ Union, SES and several private businesses.
Fees Standard consulting fee: $180.00 (one hour session)
Bulk Billing This practice is not a bulk billing practice. All of our psychologists are experienced specialist psychologists who require added qualifications and experience and have to meet stringent annual professional development requirements to maintain their specialist’s registrations.
Our psychologists will reduce their fees or bulk bill in exceptional circumstances.
Cancellation Fees A cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged if you fail to cancel your appointment with 24 hours notice or fail to attend your scheduled appointment.
