Nevenka is a registered Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and undergraduate studies in psychology and criminology. She has also completed a clinical hypnosis training program, suicidal behavior interventions and crisis intervention training.
Nevenka is an experienced psychologist with 10 years of experience in the field. She has clinical and counselling experience in a number of public and private settings, including private mental health, public mental health, drug and alcohol services, emergency services, correctional facilities, the court system and university clinics.
Nevenka has also worked as an educator in university settings teaching psychology to undergraduate students. She has provided tutoring to students in psychology and other secondary school subjects. Nevenka has been a presenter at conferences and attends conferences and training programs regularly to update her knowledge and skills.
Nevenka has formal training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of DSM psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality, eating, sleeping and substance-related disorders. Formal psychological assessment skills include cognition, memory, personality and vocational assessments. She has also developed and conducted psycho education groups on a range of topics including anxiety, depression, stress, anger, self-esteem, communication skills, and conflict resolution. Nevenka provides integrative therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of each client. These approaches include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, rational emotive behavior therapy, interpersonal therapy, solution-focused therapy, hypnotherapy, parenting, sex therapy, play therapy, harm minimization, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention.
Nevenka works with a variety of individuals; in particular she enjoys working with children, youth and adults. She is registered to provide clinical psychology services under Medicare and all Private Health Funds. She has experience in working with the Department of Human Services, WorkSafe, TAC, Victims of Crime, the Australian Defence Force, Victorian Police and Ambulance Victoria.
Nevenka has additional qualifications as a trainer with the Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation of Australia and provides Critical Incident Stress Management including Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. She volunteers with the Victorian State Emergency Service as a Clinical Officer, providing support to their Peer Support team.
